          Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie (Indonesian:[baxaˈrudːinˈjusufhaˈbibi]ⓘ; 25 June – 11 September ) was an Indonesian politician, engineer and scientist who served as the third president of Indonesia from to Less than three months after his inauguration as the seventh vice president in March , he succeeded Suharto, who resigned after 32 years in office, thereby being the only vice president to assume the presidency in such a manner.
