Mana Morimoto: Embroidery That Will Rock Your Socks Off
Mana Morimoto just wants to eat music and shoot thread laser beams. At least this is how she describes herself on her Instagram. The Sapporo-born Japanese fiber artist/graphic designer has spent the last 4 years perfecting her craft, using vibrantly stitched embroidery across nearly any and every medium you can think of.
Morimoto began by simply embroidering concert tickets, old advertisements and historical photographs.
Through the years, she continues to develop her style, branching out into incorporating other mediums like sculptures, installations (she recently did the design for a Kimura Kaela feature in Nylon magazine), weavings, gifs, and corporately commissioned pieces.
You can explore more of her work in Tumblr, Cargo Collective, and some of her works are available as prints on Society6.
